Robert Schroeder

Robert George Schroeder, 92 of Weatherford, Texas, formerly of Louisiana died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2017 at Hilltop Park Nursing Home.

A Mass of The Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Louisiana. Fr. Lou Dorn will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Louisiana.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Louisiana.

Bob was born May 25, 1924 at St. Clement, the son of George Bernard and Margaret Tepen Schroeder. He married Bessie C. Smith who preceded him in death Oct.4, 2012.

He is survived by a daughter in-law, Pam Schroeder; grandsons, Andy, Matthew and Nicholas Schroeder; granddaughters, Taylor Linn Barr, Nicole, Sydney and Darby Schroeder; a sister, Mary Frances Bontz; sisters-in-law, Laura Schreder and family, Lucy Burris and family and Shirley Luebrecht and family, all of Bowling Green; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie; a son, Dr. Robert E. Schroeder; one brother; Leo Schroeder, a sister, Celeste Korte and husband, Edmond; five brothers-in-law, Cyril Scherder, Edward Burris, Paul A. Luebrecht, Victor Mannahan and Eugene Bontz.

He had been employed at Hercules Chemical Company in Louisiana until he retired. He was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and loved to watch them play. He loved visiting with people and sharing photos of his grandchildren.

He would go to Hardee’s and visit with the “Crew” or go to Abel’s and buy a lottery ticket so he could visit with his friends.

Robert was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Louisiana and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Schroeder, Matthew Schroeder, Taylor Barr, Nicole Schroeder, Sydney Schroeder, Darby Schroeder and Nicholas Schroeder. Active pallbearers are; Terry Burris, David Scherder, Mark Luebrecht, Leon Mannahan, Eddie Korte and Howard Korte.
