Kurtis M. Taylor

Kurtis M. Taylor, 35, of Louisiana died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 near Clarksville.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at the St. Clement Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in St. Ann.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana.

He was born March 2, 1981 in St. Louis to Michael and Mary Peat Taylor. He was married to Brittany Painter on May 3, 2014 in Louisiana. She survives.

He is also survived by three sons, Hunter Taylor, Braden Taylor, and Cameron Taylor, all of the home; his mother, Mary Matthews and husband, Dave of Ballwin; three brothers, Brandon Taylor, whom he was very close with, of Overland, Michael Taylor of Wentzville, and Garrett Matthews of St. Louis; three sisters, Michelle Taylor of Bowling Green, Ky., Meredith Matthews, and Madison Matthews, both of Ballwin; his maternal grandmother, Denise Wurdack of St. Louis; his paternal grandparents, Linda and Rich Hagan of Overland; his parents-in-law, Ernie and Lee Ann Painter of Louisiana; brother-in-law, Nathan Painter and wife, Ashley; sister-in-law, Megan Kniess and son, Zach; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Taylor in 2003; his maternal grandfather, Clarence Peat; and paternal grandfather, Michael Lee Taylor, Sr. on Sept. 19, 1997.

Kurtis had grown up in St. Louis and had graduated from Marquette High School in 1999 and also had attended classes at University of Missouri-St. Louis.

He was a veteran serving with the United States Army. He had worked at several different jobs in the St. Louis area. He was a manager for Chili’s restaurants and had met his wife, Brittany while working at their Chesterfield location. He most recently was working as a salesman for Jim Trenary Chevrolet-Buick in Troy.

He was a lifelong fan of baseball and enjoyed watching and following the St. Louis Cardinals very much. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Bouras, Robert Klick, Patrick Klick, Jamie Becker, Gabe Becker, and Dave Matthews. Pallbearers will be Gary Gerhardt Jr., Jason Lang, Josh Sontag, Vinny Pavia, Frank Pendino, Matthew Klick, Gary Klick, Brandon Taylor, and Mike Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a trust fund for his children, Hunter, Braden, and Cameron, c/o Collier Funeral Homes, Inc., 117 Barnard Drive, Louisiana, MO 63353.
