Gladys Love

Gladys Hiles Love, 86, of Frankford, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Boone County Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Saturday at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with the Rev. Jerry Gamm officiating. Burial was in Bowling Green Cemetery.

Visitation was from 4-7 p.m., Friday.

Gladys was born May 23, 1930 in Bowling Green, the daughter of Walter Tinsley and Augusta Belle Sutton Hiles. On June 12, 1954 in Bowling Green she married Charles Laverne Love. He survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Sharla Bailey and husband, Kevin of Bolivar, Marcia Greenwell and husband, Mike of Shelbina, and Cheryl Schneidler and husband, Kevin of Curryville; five grandchildren, Mallory, Mitch and Mason Greenwell, Kyle and Michelle Schneidler; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Dorothy Betts and Laura Wood; and a nephew, Mike Betts.

Gladys was a member of the Curryville Baptist Church and served in numerous jobs. She spent most of her time taking care of the hogs on the family farm and was involved with cancer support groups including Relay for Life. Gladys was a member of the Hickory Grove Community and enjoyed camping and traveling. She was best known for her cooking and her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her grandkids.

Serving as pallbearers were Bruce Scherder, Dale Pilliard, Danny Lewis, Charles Bowles, Danny Hubert, Floyd Dameron. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Mac Betts, Danny Wood, Dick Betts, John Allen, Ronnie Carmen and Ronnie Sperry.

Memorials may be made to the Pike County Home Health and Hospice or Pike County Relay for Life.
