Louisiana Community Betterment Youth Plan Riverfront Beautification Project

The youth group of the Louisiana Community Betterment Association are planning a riverfront beautification project.

The project includes replacing the old railroad tie flower beds with stone enclosures, repairing or replacing the poles that stretch across the parking area and painting.

The group has a work day planned for Saturday, April 22. They are asking for any volunteers throughout the community that could bring a Bobcat or other digging equipment and any able bodies that can help with the replanting and painting.

“We have already been offered help from the Louisiana Democratic Club,” stated Diana Huckstep, Chairperson of LCB. “We are hoping other folks will step up that day also.”

LCB is also seeking monetary or material donations to help cover the cost of the new stone flower beds, paint and new plants.

“We have had many suggestions sent to us via Facebook, but in order for us to accomplish it, it will take funds. We are sure hoping folks in the community will be generous and help to supply what is needed to make our riverfront more presentable to residents and visitors,” stated Huckstep.

There is a “Go Fund Me ” page on Facebook where folks can donate, or they can send their donations to: Louisiana Community Betterment Assoc., 13384 Hwy. NN, Louisiana, MO 63353. Donations are tax-deductible since LCB is a 501c3 association.
