Stabbing At Harbison-Walker

On Thursday, May 18 at approximately 8 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Harbison-Walker Refractories in Vandalia to investigate a reported stabbing.

During the investigation, it was determined that two truck drivers had shown up to unload materials at the plant and an argument ensued over a parking place, or something parking related. The verbal argument led to a physical altercation, and eventually weapons were introduced. One driver was armed with a cargo strap with a heavy metal hook end and the other with a knife. Both men received injuries.

Julio D. Carballea, 50, of White Settlement, Texas was arrested at the scene and jailed for second degree assault and armed criminal action.

Myzra Abdykerimov, 24, of Philadelphia, Penn., was transported from the scene to the Hannibal Regional Hospital, treated for injuries and released. He was arrested and jailed for third degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Information has been forwarded to the office of the Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney for review and formal charging.
