J. Paul Salois

J. Paul Salois, 84, formerly of Bowling Green, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Veterans Hospital in Columbia. Paul had been a resident of the Missouri Veterans Home for the past four years.

A vigil and celebration of Life was at St. Clement Catholic Church Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

Visitation will be Tuesday (today) at 4 p.m., at St. John the Baptist Church in Villa Ridge followed by Mass of Resurrection at 5 p.m., and burial will follow.

Born in Scotland, Conn., in 1932 to Donat and Anita Salois. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-55. He was married to Betty Ronan of St. Louis in 1952 and they had five children. They resided in Bowling Green from 1966-2013. Together they owned and operated KPCR radio for 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger Salois of Plainfield, Conn.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Joseph Salois and wife, Debbie of Vandalia; daughters Sr. Michelle Salois of St. Louis, Patty Salois Marshall and husband, Charlie of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mary Salois of Washington; and Peggy Salois of Vandalia; sisters, Diane Matteau and husband, Clem of Plainfield, Conn., Claire Veilleux and husband, Roger of New Haven, Conn.; and brother, Jerry Salois and wife, Cheryl of Planfield, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Steve Marshall and wife, Ashlee, Ben Marshall, Nicole Marshall, Jeff Salois and wife, Gina, Matt Salois, Tiffany Hays and Josh Hays; and three great-grandchildren, Harrison, Eliana, and Logan.

Arrangements are under the direction of Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington.
