Robert ‘Bob’ Burmeister

Robert “Bob” Dwayne Burmeister, 67, of Curryville died Saturday June 24, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis after a long hard, heroic fight with Huntington’s Disease.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday (today) at St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating. Burial was in the St. Clement Cemetery.

Bob was born June 30, 1949 in Anderson, Ind., the son of Robert Eugene and Norman Jane Creason Burmeister.

Bob was a loving father to his daughter, Krista Niemeyer and husband, Frank of Curryville; grandchildren, Adrianna Burmeister, Merissa Wiles, Jacob, Dylan and Cameron Niemeyer; great-granddaughter, Iris Star Burmeister. Other survivors include a sister, Brenda “Sunny” Schott of Pendleton, Ind.; a brother Brian Burmeister of Markleville, Ind.; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob was born and raised in Markleville, Ind., and graduated from Markleville High School. and spent the last six years living with his daughter and family in Curryville.

He joined St. Clement Catholic Church at Easter in 2016 and was a current active member. In his youth he was very active with Boy Scouts. He worked for General Motors in Anderson, Ind., for 32 years. He enjoyed hot rods and going to car shows, but above all, he loved his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Serving as pallbearers were Fred Gentry, Frank Niemeyer, Jacob Niemeyer and Dylan Niemeyer.

Bibb-Veach Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
