Thomas Arrested On Weapons Charge

On Tuesday, July 4 Peter Thomas, 69, of Vandalia was arrested on an active warrant out of Audrain County for unlawful use of a weapon, with a bond amount of $15,000.

Thomas was taken into custody by the Vandalia Police Department and later released to an Audrain County Deputy for transport to Audrain County Jail.

Charges were a result of an investigation by the Vandalia Police Department into an incident reported earlier in the 100 block of East State St. where a bullet hole was found in a building. A subsequent search warrant was also executed on the property of the subject, Thomas, and is a pending investigation.

Individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Kirn Arrested On Two Charges

On Friday, June 30 Ryan Kirn, 28, of Vandalia was arrested on charges of driving while suspended/revoked and a seatbelt violation.

Kirn was later released on summons and given a date to appear in Audrain County Circuit Court.

Kirn also had an active warrant out of Wentzville for failure to appear on charges of driving while suspended/revoked. Kirn posted bond on the warrant out of Wentzville and was released with a date to appear in Wentzville.

Individuals arrested or issued a summons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
