William Edward ‘Bill’ Cohea Jr.

Services for William Edward “Bill” Cohea, Jr., 59, of Elsberry were at 10 a.m., Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. The Rev. John Zellmer, church pastor, officiated with burial in the Millcreek Cemetery near Silex.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.

Mr. Cohea died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at his home near Elsberry.

He was born Feb. 2, 1958 in St. Charles, the son of William Edward and Jeanette Rose Mills Cohea, Sr. He was united in marriage to Lesa Ellen Whiteside on July 16, 1994 in Troy.

Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 23 years, Lesa Cohea of Elsberry; two sons, Adam Cohea and wife, Sarah of Wentzville, and Andrew Cohea and wife, Brandylyn of Spokane, Wash.; one daughter, Alicia Cohea and her companion, Jon Phillips, of Elsberry; and four grandchildren, Leighton, Jackson, Ian and Owen Cohea. Bill also leaves three brothers, Tim Cohea of Annada, Joe Cohea and wife, Pat, of Elsberry, and David Cohea and wife, Dixi, of Troy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was a 1976 graduate of Clopton High School near Annada. He served his country in the U.S. Marines from May 30, 1978 until he was honorably discharged as a corporal on May 29, 1982.

Bill was employed as a printer for Mimir Flexoprinting in Troy. He was an amazing cook, and loved baseball, whether he was playing or watching the Cardinals.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William E. “Bud” Cohea, Sr. on Nov. 12, 2009.

Serving as pallbearers were Tim Cohea, Joe Cohea, Dave Cohea, Adam Cohea, Andrew Cohea, Jon Phillips and Leighton Cohea.
