Esther Sue Rodhouse

Esther Sue Rodhouse, 69, of Pleasant Hill, Ill., died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 at her hoom.

Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service is planned for inrnment at the Grassy Creek Cemetery near Louisiana.

Esther was born April 26, 1948 near Frankford, the youngest of 10 children born to Henry and Esther Raney Miller. She was precded in death by her paernts and all of her sibling with the exception of two brothers, Marion Miller of Hannibal and Melvin Miller of Savannah, Ga.

She was loved by many in the community. In 2006 she retired from being a home facilitator in helping parents of abused and neglected children to reach their return home goals and maintenance of goals to keep the children safe in their homes. Esther was married for 33 years to Lawrence “Larry” Rodhouse.

Theirs was a loving relationship where they shared the love of riding motorcycles with each other. For a time she rod her own Volkswagon trike until health reasons prevented it.

She loved music and even served as a “roadie” for Larry’s various bands.

Esther was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence W. “Larry” Rodhouse of Pleasant Hill; a son, John U. “Jud” Dryden and wife, Ginnie of Tiptonville, Tenn.; and their children, J.C., Cordell and Brooklyn Dryden and their adeopted children, Mike, Dylan and Zachery and two more children soon to be adopted.

Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Ill., handled the arrangements.
