Robert William Schlueter

Robert William Schlueter, 85, of Louisiana died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at the Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Louisiana. The Rev. Craig Reiter officiated. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery near Louisiana.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana.

He was born April 2, 1932 in St. Louis to Herman and Flora Oellein Schlueter. He was married to Lorraine Frances Hoppe on March 14, 1953 in Overland. She preceded him in death on Feb. 21, 1997.

He is survived by three sons, Gerald Schlueter and wife, Kathy of Harrisonville, Dean Schlueter and wife, Lisa of Ste. Genevieve, Bobby Schlueter and wife, Dee of Eolia; one daughter, Diane Todd and husband, Rodney of Louisiana; eight grandchildren, Ben Schlueter, Amy Schlueter, Christopher Todd, Joshua Schlueter, Michael Schlueter, Stephanie Schlueter, Bobby Schlueter, and Abagael Schlueter, eight great-grandchildren, Jordan Todd, Justin Todd, Jase Todd, Jaxon Todd, Mya Schlueter, Maci Schlueter, Owen Schlueter, and Nevaeh Schlueter, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Herman, Edward, Freddie, Henry, Albert, Elmer, and Harry, and one sister, Florence Thielemier.

Mr. Schlueter had been self-employed operating a trash removal business in St. Charles County from 1958-78. He moved to Pike County in 1980 to operate his 780 acre farm until his retirement in 2010.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Louisiana. He was a veteran serving during the Korean War with the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 370 in Louisiana.

Pallbearers were Chris Todd, Benjamin Schlueter, Josh Schlueter, Michael Schlueter, Bobby Schlueter, and Rodney Todd.
