Flora Motley

Flora Motley, 91, of Bowling Green died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green.

Graveside services were held 10 a.m., Monday at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Flora was born Nov. 3, 1926 the daughter of James Albert and Nellie Katherine Branham Pruitt. On Sept. 16, 1944 in Louisiana she married Ernest Motley Sr. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Ernest Motley Jr., and wife, Linda of Kirksville, Bill Motley of Bowling Green; daughters, Dola Hammett and husband, Bob of Bowling Green, Susie Robison and husband, Tim of Eolia, Betty Steadman and husband, David of Bowling Green, Rose Land and husband, David of Bowling Green; a sister, Bonnie Dunnington; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Jim Motley; brothers, Sonny, Clifford, Bobby and Jessie Pruitt; sister, Mary Charlton and daughter-in-law, Debbie Motley.

Flora lived in Pike County area all of her life and was a member of the family of God and was a Prayer Warrior.

She loved gardening, sewing, cooking, bird watching and most of all hearing her grandchildren play gospel music.

Memorials may be made to the Pike County Christian School or the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
