Ralph E. Quick Jr.

Memorial services for Ralph Edward Quick, Jr. of Clarksville were held at 2 p.m., Saturday at American Legion Post #226 in Elsberry. The Rev. John Zellmer, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry, officiated.

Visitation was from 1 p.m., until the time of memorial services Saturday at American Legion Post #226.

Ralph, 62, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield.

Born Nov. 2, 1955 in Laurinburg, N.C., he was the son of Ralph Edward and Sadie Tucker Quick, Sr. Ralph was united in marriage on Oct. 23, 1983 in Las Vegas, N.V., to Caron Elizabeth Staaf. She survives.

He made furniture for the Windsor Chair Shop. Ralph was best known for his 12 years of service as the Clarksville Santa Claus. He was a member of New Hope Lodge #199 AF&AM in Elsberry and the Pike County Defenders Motorcycle Club.

Survivors include his children: Kevin Quick and his wife, Natalie, and Jason Quick and wife, Kristin, all of St. Louis; and seven grandchildren, Cameron Michael, Liam Edward, Jo Dell, Anthony J., Dominic, Savannah and Anthony G. Ralph also leaves his father, Ralph E. Quick, Sr., of Mt. Gilead, N.C.; two sisters: Myra Mabe and her husband, Preston, of New Hope, and Rita Quick of Laurel Hill, N.C.; one half-sister, Cindy Holloway of Tennessee; one half-brother, Tommy Quick, of Georgia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ralph was preceded in death by his mother Sadie Wilkerson; and one brother, Jack Quick.
