Virginia Nell ‘Ginner’ Sanderson

Virginia Nell “Ginner” Sanderson, 95, of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 at Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with the Rev. Lewis Kimmell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cem-etery.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m., until time of services.

Virginia was born June 30, 1922 in Cyrene, the daughter of Harry D. and Pauline Childs Tinsley. She married Joseph H. Sanderson Oct. 13, 1941. He preceded her in death March 3, 2012.

Survivors include her children, Rebecca A. Sanderson and Carol of Corvallis, Ore., Kimberly R. Sampson and husband, David of Kirksville, Lisa J. McCluer and husband, Arthur of Dardenne Prairie and Christopher J. Sanderson of Corvallis, Ore.; grandchildren, Chad Sampson and wife, Mackenzie, Angela St. Clair and husband, Jason, Melody Magruder and husband, Joe, Elizabeth Jones and husband, Nathan, Rebecca Whitworth and husband, Lyle, and Andrew McCluer; great-grandchildren, Corbin Sampson, Kolton Sampson, Madelyn Sampson, Gage St. Clair, Avery St. Clair, Laney Magruder, Chloe Magruder, Benjamin Jones, Hayden Jones, Lucas Jones, Emery Jones, Emma Whitworth and Noah Whitworth; brother-in-law, Dick Lovell of Cyrene; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Darren Sampson; siblings, Willard Tinsley and wife, Clareta, Martha Lawrence and husband, Jim, Marjorie Lovell and Wayne Tinsley.

Virginia grew up in Cyrene, played basketball and graduated from Bowling Green High School. She and her husband owned and operated Sanderson Dry Goods and Ready to Wear. She loved crocheting, flowers and spending time with family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Jones, Chad Sampson, Joe Magruder, Jason St. Clair, Andrew McCluer and Lyle Whitworth.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
