PCMH Is Recognized For Improved Quality, Safety

The Missouri Hospital Association (MHA) recently recognized Pike County Memorial Hospital with a “Zero Hero” award.

PCMH was one of only eight in the top 10 percent with the most zero harm measures reported. The participating organizations have either achieved and/or sustained a zero rate of harm, of HIIN-participating hospitals.

HIIN is the Missouri Hospital Association’s Hospital Improvement Innovation Network. This partnership with the American Hospital Association’s Health Research and Educational Trust to drive quality improvement throughout the state of Missouri. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services expects every acute care, critical access and children’s hospital to collectively address patient harm through HIIN participation. MHA has developed a strong program to support the project goals in the pursuit of the Triple Aim – better health, better care and lower costs.

“PCMH has been part of the HIIN project since its inception. With National Guidelines and research based recommendations, we strive for zero events every day,” noted Paulette Powelson, IC/RM/QA Director. “PCMH is proud to provide the safest medical experience possible for our patients and families.”
