Sharon R. McCormack

Sharon R. McCormack, 59, of Vandalia died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m., at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center with Pastor Brian Lehenbauer and Pastor Ron Franklin officiating.  Interment of her cremains will take place at a later date in Vandalia Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1:30-3 p.m., at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Vandalia.

She was born Feb. 24, 1958 in Lake Charles, La., the daughter of Kenneth Calvin and Martha Agnes Balanga McCormack.

Survivors include one brother, K. Craig McCormack of Vandalia; two sisters, Lynne M. Floyd of Vandalia, and Donna L. Smith and husband, Dennis of Hannibal; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

She was born in Lake Charles, La., and moved to Missouri in her younger years. Sharon was a 1977 Mark Twain High School graduate.

She has been living in Vandalia since 1978 and worked in the kitchen for several area restaurants. Sharon was a long time faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Vandalia where she also attended Bible study and Bible school. She enjoyed reading, working word search puzzles and watching Cardinal baseball.

Memorials are encouraged to the McCormack family to help with Craig and Sharon’s expenses.
