Richard Edward ‘Dickie’ Damron

Richard Edward “Dickie” Damron died at his home home in Evanston Wyo., Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, following a lengthy illness.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m., at Depot Square in Evanston, Wyo.

He was born Jan. 12, 1947 in Louisiana, the son of Norman and Verna Mae Koester Damron.

He leaves his wife of 33 years, Pamela Dunn Damron; a daughter, Kerry Downs and husband, Tucker of Rock Springs, Wyo.; one son, Darin Damron and wife, Kathy of Evanston, Wyo.; a daughter, Tammy Hunt and companion, Jeff Graeber of Laurel, Mont.; a son, Douglas Fish and wife, Sara of Lyman, Wyo. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Patrick Marshall and wife, Tiffany and daughter, Karly of Rock Springs, Wyo., Jessica VanValkenburg and husband, Steve and son, Devon of Rock Springs, Wyo.; Amanda Damron of Evanston, Wyo.; Allycia Durham and her companion, Eric Braunberger and sons, Lukas and Talon of Miles City, Mont.; Krystal Durham and children, Zebediah, Johnathan, Tieranney, and Astraea of Laurel, Mont.; Roy Durham of Laurel, Mont.; Jacob, Ethan, and Anthony Graeber of Laurel, Mont.; Shealyn Even and husband, Patrick of Rock Springs, Wyo.; and Tanner Downs and companion, Amanda Fleck, and children, Xaiden, Madison, and Maxton of Rock Springs. He is also survived by a brother, Darrell Damron of Meridian, Idaho and a sister, Debra Davenport of Cody, Wyo.

Dickie was preceded in death by his parents and infant grand-daughter, Willow Dawn Lucille Maez Fish.

Richard attended school in Missouri, North Dakota, and Wyoming. He was employed by Bridger Coal Company for many years as a heavy equipment operator. He then worked for UPS in Rock Springs and Evanston, and later for Seward Trucking Co.

Richard was known for his stubbornness, his wit, his love of babies and dogs, and of course pickles. He loved fishing with his dad and his uncle. He was an avid Green Bay Packer’s fan, but loved all sports and would watch any event.

Even though he was extremely hard-headed and insisted on doing things his way, he also liked to joke and kid around with everyone he knew.
