Ruby Helen Keller

Ruby Helen Keller, 84, of Louisiana died Monday, Jan. 29, 2018 at Lynn’s Heritage House in Louisiana.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m., Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Louisiana. The Rev. Bill Maupin officiated. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.

Visitation was from 11 a.m., until time of service Saturday at the church.

She was born July 9, 1933 in Frankford, the daughter of Joseph and Ruby Beaulah Walker Carr. She married Elmer Lee Keller on Dec. 24, 1950 at Walnut Grove Church in Louisiana. Elmer preceded her in death May 24, 1990.

Mrs. Keller is survived by one son, Roger Lee Keller and wife, Gezelee of Las Vegas, Nev.; two granddaughters, Gezelle and Carrie; one brother, Jackie Joe Carr and wife, Sue; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisiana and served the church in one capacity or another for several decades. Ruby’s association with her church and church family was particularly special.

Ruby had graduated from Central Illinois Beauty Academy In 1960 and operated “Ruby’s Beauty Shop” at 106 Barnard Drive for almost four decades.

She had spent her entire life in the Louisiana area. She and Elmer forged a particularly special relationship with their son’s friends and classmates that lasted throughout their lives.

In their lives together, they enjoyed bowling, were avid square dancers, and loved vacationing every year at Panama City Beach, Fla.

Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Louisiana or Community Loving Care Hospice, c/o the funeral home.
