Annual Black History Month Program Held At White Rose Baptist Church

The Northeast Missouri Clergy Coalition held its Annual Black History Program on Sunday, Feb. 4, at White Rose Baptist Church, Bowling Green.

The black history speaker was G. Faye Dant, The executive director for Gem’s Journey Huck Finn Freedom Center, Hannibal, also Founding Director Hannibal African American Life & History Project.

Sister Dant gave a very educational and inspiring message concerning the different things that she had learned and some of the things that she had gone through in growing up, she had a lot of history to tell it was a great speech.

Everyone was surprised to hear that some of her ancestors were originally from Eolia.

The worship message was given by the Rev. David Parker, Pastor of Bethel AME Louisiana, his message was on “I Am Somebody” a great message, music was given by the NEMCC Choir, singing “How Great Is Our God, Awesome, and Every Praise”.

Other pastors participating in the services were the Rev. Sam Bogan Sr., the Rev. Marvin Davis, the Rev. C. Jessel Strong and the Rev. Faye Vaughn.

A meal was served by the different churches in the Fellowship Hall after the service.

The Youth Taste of Blackness program will be held at Bethel AME Church Louisiana on Sunday March 18, at 2:30 p.m., three seniors will be giving their essays along with youth singing and praise dancing

A meal will be served with Youth eating at 1 p.m., please try to come and support the youth.
