Judith M. Lipsey

Judith M. Lipsey “Granny”, 78, of Quincy died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at home.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Judith.  Private family celebration of life planned for this spring.

Born Feb. 5, 1940, in Ramsey, Ill., Judith was the daughter of Joe and Flossie Bolyard. She married Donald E. Lipsey on June 15, 1958, in Ramsey, Ill.

A graduate of Saint Mary’s School of Nursing, in St. Charles. Judith received her associates degree in nursing.  She had a prosperous career in the nursing field, serving as a home health nurse, labor and delivery, oncology, and surgery. Judith enjoyed restoring historic homes and gardening. Throughout her life she restored 11 homes.

Judith raised her family to have faith and trust in God.  She always had a smile on her face and was kind to strangers.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 59 years, Donald Lipsey; her children: Melody Smith and husband, David of Troy, Kevin Lipsey and wife, Tammy, Bolivar, Todd Lipsey and wife, Gail of Bowling Green, Amy Dunlap and husband, Shane of Troy; her grandchildren, Heidi Smith, Timmy Smith, Caleb Smith, Tyler Smith, Kristy Day, Kyle Lipsey, Keith Lipsey, Rebecca Lipsey, Brian Lipsey, Rachel Lipsey, Kelsi Beauchamp, Alyssa Dunlap, Kali Dunlap; her great-grandchildren, Noah Smith, Harlow Smith, Carter Turnbull, Jeremiah Jude Walker. Also surviving are five siblings, Jimmy Bolyard, Jenny Hall, Sonya Koontz, Tammy Mazza, Sharon Rincker.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jean Bolyard, Joey Bolyard, Jackie Bolyard.

Arrangements are in the care of the Collier Funeral Homes, Inc., Louisiana.
