Mark George Henke

Mark George Henke, 78, of Silex died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis.

Graveside services were held at 12:30 p.m., Monday at Auburn Cemetery in Silex.

Mark was born March 19, 1939, the son of Marcus George and Florence Margaret Shannon Henke. He married Marlyn Louise Kelly Jan. 6, 1968. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, David Justus of Troy; daughters, Brenda Gregory and husband, Gary of Florida, Sherri Roeder of Elsberry, and Melissa Orf of Moscow Mills; grandchildren, Ryan Justus, Travis Justus, Heather Stanek and husband, Jimmy, Hope Roeder, Meggan Orf and Madison Orf; brothers, Terry Henke and wife, Barb of Auxvasse and Doug Ellis of Peoria, Ill.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Randy Roeder; a brother, Dyer and a sister, Blanche.

Mark grew up in Warrenton and Troy and lived the last 23 years in Silex. He was a member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church where he served in the past as a Deacon. Mark was an over the road truck driver until 1983 when he became disabled.

He enjoyed pulling tractors, fishing, raising cattle and watching racing. Mark loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
