Maurine Harness

Marjorie Maurine Harness, 91, of Mexico, formerly of Middletown died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain in Mexico.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at Myers Funeral Home in Middletown. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Cyrene.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Harness was the daughter of Aubrey Taylor Ogden and Kathryn Virginia Burks Ogden, born on April 6, 1926 in Lynchburg, Va.

She graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1944 and married her class mate Lowell Gene Harness on Aug. 8, 1947 in Bowling Green.

Maurine and Lowell settled on a farm near Middletown in 1952 and actively farmed there for over 60 years. Maurine was preceded in death by her husband Lowell in 2016.

Maurine and Lowell are the parents of Harry Taylor Harness and wife, Connie, Farmington, Donald Gene Harness and wife, Ann, Mexico; Kent Ogden and wife, Susan, Mexico, and Sherie Beth Magner and husband, Jerry of Hiawatha, Iowa. They have seven grandchildren, Jennifer Harness, Mexico, Katie Hemmer and husband, Michael, Hamburg, Germany, Andrew Magner, Des Moines, Iowa, Courtney Magner, Hiawatha, Iowa, and Christopher, Mary Caroline, and Becket Harness, Farmington.
