Jim Pratt

Jim Pratt, 84, of Frankford,died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 at Hannibal Regional Hosptital.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Monday at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with the Rev. Gail Aurand officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Frankford.

Visitation was from 12-2 p.m., at the funeral home.

Jim was born Oct. 7, 1933 in Louisiana, the son of Charles T. and Nina Krigbaum Pratt. He married Helen Halliburton Dec. 17, 1976. She survives.

Other survivors include two children, Ron Pratt and wife, Lauri of Alpharetta, Ga., and Tracy Jo Smith of Rolla; five step-children, Dennis McMillen and wife, Debby of Center, Jan Beshears of Bowling Green, Terry McMillen and wife, Judy of Paris, Mike McMillen and wife, Leslie of Frankford, Brad McMillen and wife, Christine of St. Peters; a brother, Charles Pratt of Louisiana; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Charlene Henry and Blanche Byington; a son, Jeffrey Kent Pratt; and one brother, William Pratt.

Jim attended Louisiana High School, left in 1951 to serve in the U.S. Navy for four years. After service he worked for C.T. Sisson for 20 plus years then Pike Grain County for 27 years.

He was later awarded a high school diploma from the state of Missouri. His class of 1949 football team was inducted into the Louisiana High School Hall of Fame in February 2017. He was a member of the American Legion Post 370 in Louisiana.

He also enjoyed watching Tom and Jerry with Milam when he came to visit. Jim enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and riding his golf cart around town. He was quite the carpenter and made many keepsakes for the family.

Pallbearers were Albert Beshears, Shelton McMillen, Timothy Pratt, Taylor Pratt, Toni Doggett and Kristen Hampton.
