Lloyd Herman Browning

Lloyd Herman Browning, 95, of Vandalia died Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at his home.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.

He was born March 19, 1922 in Miami, Fla., the son of Orville Herman and Rosa Dale Foreman Browning. He was married to Martha Louise “Snookie” Goodin on Oct. 15, 1942 at Bowling Green. She preceded him in death in Sept. 7, 1960. He then married Betty Ann Adkins on June 14, 1962. She preceded him in death Jan. 26, 2000.

Survivors include one daughter, Marcia Harrelson of Farber; one sister-in-law, Martha L. Coil of Mexico; two grandchildren, Teresa McCullom of Columbia and Julie Pehle of Mexico; three step-grandchildren, Sean Wiser, Gina Wiser, and Kara Wiser; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: one stepdaughter, Linda Hapgood; and two brothers, Leon and Raymond Browning.

Mr. Browning was a lifetime area resident and a 1939 graduate of Farber High School. He served his country in WWII in the US Army from Oct. 4, 1942-Dec. 8, 1945 and attained the rank of Tech 4.

He was Christian by faith. He enjoyed painting, reading, photography and watching Cardinal baseball and Mizzou basketball.
