Martin Mike ‘Slim’ Golian

Martin Mike “Slim” Golian, 72, of Hannibal died Monday, March 12, 2018 at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Thursday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Paytie Hinch officiated. Burial with full military rites by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 was at Fairview Cemetery in Frankford.

Visitation was from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at James O’Donnell Funeral Home.

Martin was born May 24, 1945, in Hannibal to Martin Mike Golian, Sr. and Viola Oliver Golian. He was married to Fannie M. Schindler on April 8, 2009 at the Frankford Worship Center in Frankford. She survives.

Other survivors include two children, Tara Fuget and Eric Berheger of New London, Nicholas Golian of Hannibal; two step-children, Douglas Caldwell of Monroe City, and Renita Dean of Excelsior Springs; one brother, Dave Golian and wife, Jan of New London; and one sister, Rochella Woodford of Center; two grandchildren, Justin Fuget and Hunter Golian; four step-grandchildren, Ramsey Phillips, Justin, Fred and Brian Caldwell; and two great-grandchildren, Preston Fuget and Aleccia Fuget.

He is preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, John Golian, Joe Golian, Virgil Golian, Charles Drew, Kenneth Drew, and three sisters, Helen Rogers, Lola Drew and Delores Lynn Girard.

Martin was a United States Army Veteran. He worked maintenance on several oil rigs.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and doing carpentry work. He liked playing the drums and once played in a band.

He was a member of the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55. Martin attended the Frankford Worship Center in Frankford. He was a Christian by faith.

Pallbearers were Garrett Schindler, John Schindler, Paytie Lee Hinch, Rob Windford, John Golian, and Johnny Golian.

Honorary pallbearer was Don Hendren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that Memorial contributions be made to James E. Cary Cancer Center or Community Loving Care Hospice.
