Frazier Named Interim Manager Of Eastern MO YMCA

As construction of the Eastern Missouri Family YMCA progresses, numerous details and coordination of efforts are necessary to ensure the success of the facility. To offer expertise and assist with the project, Jeff Frazier has been selected for the role of Interim Project Manager.

In this role, Frazier works to coordinate the efforts of getting a building erected to house the Eastern Missouri Family YMCA. These efforts include overseeing the construction, purchasing fitness equipment, fundraising, and coordinating the efforts of the Vandalia Recreation Corporation, Eastern Missouri Family YMCA Board, and the Mexico Area Family YMCA Board.

Frazier’s history with the YMCA dates back to 1979. Jeff was involved in his first fundraising efforts for the YMCA by being part of a musical production in the summer of 1981. The production of student actors and singers helped to raise money for the first YMCA building in Mexico.

Since then, Frazier has been active in the YMCA as a board member and was President of the Mexico Area Family YMCA Board during the most recent $4.5 Million expansion.

Frazier is very familiar with Vandalia and the surrounding area. He owned and operated 10 U.S. Cellular stores throughout central Missouri, including a store in Vandalia which served the area for 11 years.

Frazier resides in Mexico with his wife Margaret and 6 children. When he isn’t working on business ideas and ventures he loves being outside. Jeff enjoys many sports and outdoor activities. He serves as Huddle leader for the local Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in Mexico.

“I am excited about this venture for Vandalia and the surrounding area. From my many years of involvement with a Y, I know first hand what it can do for a community. A YMCA not only serves to help make its members healthier, but also increases the health of the whole community. I see folks of all ages using the Y for health and social reasons. It’s great to have a central place for activities that can benefit everyone and that’s exactly what this Y will do for this area. I can’t wait to hand over the keys to the Director, so they can open this fantastic facility and get busy serving all the great folks from the area. I love meeting folks, so I am ready to get out and start talking about the new YMCA.”
