Marcelo ‘Mark’ Daniel Paez Prada

Marcelo (Mark) Daniel Paez Prada of Manchester died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the age of 75 of prostate cancer.

Funeral services will be Thursday 11 a.m., at Kirkwood United Methodist Church, Kirkwood. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m., at Olney Cemetery in Olney.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m., at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, V. SuzAnne Stroker Paez and two children, Marcelo ‘Mark’ D. Paez Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Manchester, and I. Maria Paez Brennan and husband, Kevin of Kirkwood.

Mark was born in Venezuela, South America and attended Truman University where he met SuzAnne and graduated with a degree in agronomy in 1970. After graduation they moved to Caracas Venezuela, and then to El Tigre. He was a manager of both Stubbins Irrigation Company, as well as a peanut plant and held the position of doctor in agriculture with the national agriculture institute of Venezuela.

They returned to the US in 1984, and in 1995 he started his own business, FitnessTech where he retired in 2011. Mark was a mechanical minded handy man, a straight shooter, a well-read person about variety of topics and the most read book was the Bible. But one thing he didn’t get into was sports! His favorite saying as of late was, “Don’t worry be Happy.” He will be missed and remembered by those who loved him, and who really knew him for the person he was.
