Rodger Lee Loveless

Rodger Lee Loveless, 84, of Louisiana died Monday, May 21, 2018 at Lynn’s Heritage House in Louisiana.

Funeral services were at 12 p.m., Thursday at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Mike Haldeman officiated. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery near Louisiana.

Visitation was from 10 a.m., until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born May 17, 1934 on the farm in Scottville, Ill., to Ernest and Lois Lomelino Loveless. He was married to Phyllis Battefeld on Dec. 31, 1966 in Meredosia, Ill. She preceded him in death Sept. 25, 2013.

He is survived bya son, Ron Loveless and wife, Jenna of Louisiana; two grandchildren, Brennan Loveless and Anna Loveless; a brother, David Loveless of Jacksonville, Ill.; a sister, Sandra Little and husband, Howard of Dekalb, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Velma Koch of Meredosia, Ill.; a niece, Tammy Phillips; and a nephew, Billy Koch.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Loveless, siblings, Ernest Loveless, Jr., Donald Loveless, and Betty Gallagher, and a granddaughter, Olivia Loveless.

Rodger was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Newport News and obtained the rank of Boatswain’s Mate. He had worked as a truck driver for many years until his retirement in 2004. He enjoyed building and repairing clocks and working with his hands on many other things.
