Edna Ruth Labbee

Edna Ruth Labbee, 66, of Hannibal, formerly of Bowling Green died Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Funeral services were at 12 p.m., Monday at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with the Rev. Ronn Pashia officiating. Burial was in Smyrna Cemetery in Middletown.

Visitation was from 10 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

Edna was born July 20, 1952 in Louisiana, the daughter of Donald Eugene and Dolories Mildred Perkins Burbridge. On March 10, 1991 in Barnhart, she married Ronald Dean Labbee. He survives.

Other survivors include children, Allen M. Martin and wife, Mary of Bowling Green, Tanja D. Adams of Bowling Green, and Michael P. Labbee and wife, Angela of Hannibal; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, James O. Burbridge and wife, Mona of Hannibal; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Bud and Gene Burbridge; and a sister, Rita Magee.

Edna grew up mostly in Bowling Green and graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1971 and spent the last 11 years in Hannibal. She was a Baptist by faith.

She worked as a waitress and cook after high school working at the Farmshed in Louisiana until 1990 when she became a stay at home mother.

Edna enjoyed bingo, shopping, spending time with family and friends, scratching lottery tickets, watching the Young and the Restless but most of all spending time with her family.

Pallbearers were James Burbridge, Junior Walker, Dane Labbee, Jason Stanley, Melvin Stanger and Eugene Stanger. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Hiedecker and Joseph McCurdy.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
