Howard Henry Sussman

Howard Henry Sussman, 77, of Acton, Maine died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, peacefully at his home.

He was the husband of Joy Goodin Sussman, formerly of Vandalia.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday at Vandalia Cemetery. Mike Saul will officiate.

Howard was born in New York, N.Y., Dec. 2, 1940 to Walter and Beatrice Sussman. He graduated from high school in Rome, N.Y., and received a bachelor of science degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology (formally University of Missouri-Rolla) in Rolla.

Howard worked as an electrical engineer in the electronics industry for 55 years. He enjoyed his work, traveling and spending time with family. He was also actively involved in JEDEC, a worldwide electronics organization based in Washington, D.C.

Howard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joy Goodin Sussman of Acton, Maine; two sons and their wives, David and Brenda Sussman of Denver, Colo., and Michael and Jennifer Sussman of Charlotte N.C.; three grandchildren, Danny, Kiley and Xander Sussman; and other family members and friends.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Beatrice Sussman and one brother, Alan Sussman.

Howard is the son-in-law of the late Melvin and Fannie Goodin of Vandalia.

The family of Howard H. Sussman asks that there be no flowers sent to the graveside service.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Waters Funeral Home.
