Debbie Carnes Bergstrom

Debbie Bergstrom, 59, of Blue Springs, formerly of Clarksville died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Saturday at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. Burial was at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, Ill.

Visitation was from 11 a.m., until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 12, 1958 in Newport, Ark., to Garland Dean and Ruth Ann Wilder Carnes. She was married to Curtis Bergstrom on July 21, 1990 in Quincy, Ill. He survives.

She is also survived by three daughters, Sherry LeBlanc of St. Louis, Brandy Harrison of Paynesville, and Tiffany Bergstrom of Blue Springs; her mother, Ruth Ann Luckett of Louisiana; one step-son, Dustin Bergstrom of Olney, Ill.; one step-daughter, Brittany Duncan of Clarksville, Ind.; seven granddaughters; seven grandsons; and four sisters, Jeanne Carnes of Hannibal, Lisa Sagastume of Louisiana, Deania Carnes of Columbia, and Nancy Wastler of Bowling Green.

She was preceded in death by her father, Garland Carnes, and her step-father, Donald Luckett.

Debbie was a graduate of Clopton High School with the class of 1977. She worked as a certified nurses assistant starting at the Elsberry Nursing Home and later the Good Samaritan Home in Quincy, Ill., for a number of years until becoming a homemaker.

She was a very meticulous housekeeper and kept everything very organized. She was Christian by faith. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and anything to do with arts and crafts.

Debbie loved to cook, go camping and sunbathing, and just being outdoors taking nature walks.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the St. Luke’s Hospice House, c/o the funeral home.
