Gladys Irene McCoy

Gladys Irene McCoy, 93, of Mexico, formerly of Perry died Monday, Sept. 15, 2018 at Pin Oaks Living Center in Mexico.

Mrs. McCoy was born April 21, 1925 in Novinger, the daughter of Orange Newton and Gladys Glee Kirkpatrick Long. She was married to Hubert John McCoy. He preceded her in death in May of 1986.

Survivors include two sons, John McCoy of Houston, Texas, and David McCoy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three daughters, Judith Kay Venugopal of Stone Mountain, Ga., Madeline Gladys Jones of Palmyra, and Huberta Julene Littler of Vandalia; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Mrs. McCoy was a homemaker and caretaker. She moved to the Perry area 25 years ago from Moberly. She was a member of the Carpenter Street Baptist Church in Moberly and the American Cancer Society.

She loved caring for other people and enjoyed reading and sewing.

No services are planned at this time and cremation rites are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home.
