Robert Lawrence Henson

Robert Lawrence Henson of Bowling Green died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

Memorial Mass was at 10 a.m., Monday at St. Clement Catholic Church.

Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m., Sunday at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.

Bob was born Jan. 9, 1941 in Jennings, St. Louis County, the son of Edward Ned and Leona Frances Calhoun Henson. He attended Corpus Christi then St. Ferdinand grade schools and graduated in 1959 from DeAndres High School. On June 22, 1963 he married Anna Marie Dieckmann Henson at St. Clement Catholic Church.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years; sons, Robert W. Henson and wife, Sonya of St. Thomas, Michael Henson and wife, Lodi of Henley, Kevin Henson and Lori of Bowling Green, Phillip Henson and fiancé, Misty Gardner of Bowling Green, Thomas Henson and wife, Angeline of Wentzville; grandchildren, Elizabeth Farr and husband, Justin of Jefferson City, Zachary Henson of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Joshua Henson of St. Thomas, Emily Henson of Columbia, Bethany Henson of Louisiana, Phillip Henson II of Wellsville, Emma Grace Dyer of Columbia, Andrew, Nolan and Wyatt Henson of Wentzville; great-grandchildren, Braydon Farr, Gabriella Henson, Kaylex Sommers, Patience Dakin; step-grandchildren, Nikki Harris, Lucas Epple, Cheyenne Epple and Makenna Mayberry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Leona Calhoun Henson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Penn and Louise Suttmoller Dieckmann; one infant son, Robert Lawrence Henson Jr.; four brothers, Edward, Marvin, Raymond and Richard Henson.

Bob worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft for seven years and after a large layoff he then went to work for the Francis Howell School District for three years and later worked for Air Wick in 1973.

Air Wick later became Reckitt Benckiser in St. Peters. He retired from there after 20 years.

Memorials may be made to the St Clement Cemetery or Parkinson’s Foundation.
