Robert Allen ‘Bob’ Whitacre

Robert Allen (Bob) Whitacre, 64, of Bowling Green died Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 at his residence after an extended illness, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Roger Preston officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Robert was born Sept. 23, 1954 in Hagerstown, Mary., the son of Raymond and Nancy Allen Whitacre. He married Melinda Ann Rievley Nov. 21, 1988 in Tampa, Fla. She survives.

Other survivors include sons, Robert Allen Whitacre II and wife, Hollie of Vermontville, N.Y., Timothy Michael Whitacre and wife, Nicole of Bowling Green, and Dustin Lee DuBose of Chicago, Ill.; daughters, Misty Dawn DuBose of Columbia, and Stacey Marie Miller and husband, Jason of Palmyra; seven grandchildren; brothers, Jim Whitacre and wife, Leann of Kentucky and Jr. Whitacre of Maryland; sisters, Rebecca Whitacre of Florida and Janet Gieger and husband, Barry of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert lived all across the country, moving several times due to job transfers within the Walmart organization. He spent the past 11 years in Missouri and made his home in Bowling Green.

He was a Methodist by faith and was a member of the United States Army.

Robert work resume includes time as a deputy sheriff with the Hillsboro County, Fla., Sheriff’s Department and as a corrections officer for the state of Florida. He was a member of management for Walmart for 14 1/2 years including the store in Louisiana.

Memorials may be made to Pike County Hospice.
