Virginia Pearl Morris

Memorial services for Virginia Pearl Morris, 84, of Vandalia will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Vandalia Baptist Church Family Life Center with the Rev. Bob Hoehn officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m., until the time of the service at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home.

Mrs. Morris died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 at Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia.

She was born Feb. 10, 1934, in rural Middletown, the daughter of Curtis Walter and Claudia Oneta Davis Schwartz. She married Charles Galloway Morris on Sept. 3, 1968. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2011.

Survivors include one son, Eddie Morris of Ravenna, Ohio; two daughters, Beverly Larvia of Kent, Ohio and Sovona Morris of Moscow Mills; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Seitz, Melissa Hansen, Brandon, Jonathan and Joshua Morris; seven great grandchildren, Jonathan and Charles Seese, Ariel and Pandora Seitz, Emily Hansen, Joseph Govero and Hunter Morris; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donley and Shirley Morris of Vandalia; and one cousin, Patricia Schultz of Gastonia, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Rebecca Cummins Jackson.

Mrs. Morris was primarily a lifetime area resident and spent several years in Texas. She was a member of the Weslaco Baptist Church inWeslaco, Texas, and the Vandalia Baptist Church.

She was a 1952 graduate of Vandalia High School. She worked at the Vandalia Garment Factory where she was a union representative, Gooden’s Five and Dime, Dollar General and Coast to Coast.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, working puzzles, reading, collecting and trying new recipes and traveling.
