Joyce ‘Joy’ Nelson

Joyce “Joy” Lee Nelson, 78, of Bolivar, formerly of Curryville died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018 at Citizen Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.
A graveside service was held Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar. A family memorial was held at her son, Bryan Nelson’s home in Bolivar.
She was born on Sept. 17, 1940 in Louisiana Missouri to Jack Vincent “JV” and Delores Stumbaugh.
Survivors include her brother, Jack Vincent Stumbaugh of St. Clement; two sons, Bryan Nelson and wife, Deborah of Bolivar, Clifford Nelson and wife, Angela of Hannibal; 11 grandchildren, Shawn Nelson and wife, Brandy, Lance Nelson, Justin Nelson and wife, Brooke, Brandon Nelson, Kala Nelson, Brandi Nelson, Christopher Nelson, Ashlee Liffick, Brittney Shamblin and husband, Patrick, Sarah Nelson, and Abigale Nelson; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by one son, Kenneth Nelson, her daughter, Lisa Nelson, aunt, Esther “Ginger” Norman, husband, Gale D. Nelson, father, Jack Vincent Stumbaugh, grandmother, Mary Roan Stumbaugh, and grandfather, Jack Vincent Stumbaugh.
Joyce loved spending time with her family and church family, sewing, shopping, attending church services and traveling.
