Clematine ‘Clem’ Perkins Blanton

Clematine “Clem” Perkins Blanton, 90, of Curryville died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 at Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with the Rev. Bob Hoehns officiating. Burial will be in Keith Cemetery in New Hartford.
Visitation for Clem will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Clem was born Nov. 22, 1928 in Pike County, the daughter of George and Alta Pearl Thurmon Harlow. She married Roy Ben Perkins June 29, 1946 in Louisiana. He preceded her in death. She then married George Blanton. He preceded her death.
Survivors include two sons, Lee Perkins and wife, Joyce of Curryville, and Gene Perkins and wife, Patra of Curryville; three daughters, Eva Craig and husband, Tom of New Hartford, Florence Graver and husband, George of Bowling Green, and Joyce Terry of Curryville; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sisters, Nellie B. Young, Juanita Benning, Lucille Young, Iva Mae Williamson; brothers George Harlow, Albert Harlow; a daughter, Vickie Baskett; grandson, Glen Fox; and granddaughters, Melanie Sue Fox and Michell Lee Perkins.
Clem was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Bowling Green. She worked at Bobbie Brooks, Bridal Originals, sewed casket interiors and was an inspector for helicopter parts at Carlston Industries. Clem loved music, dancing, gardening, sewing, hummingbirds, rodeos and country music.
She rode horses, would tap her foot to the music even in the later years and most of all loved time with her family.
Pallbearers will be Jim Craig, Scott Craig, Donald Perkins, Jared Baskett, Brennen Perkins, and Bennie Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Perkins, Jennifer Ogden, Jenna Knuffman, Stephanie Klott and Tracy Ackmann.
