Laverne E. Tucker

Laverne E. Tucker, 90, of Curryville died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 at the Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana.
A private graveside service will be held at Lakewood Park Cemetery in St. Louis.
Graveside services are under the direction of Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 23 at the United Methodist Church in Clarksville.
Laverne was born June 14, 1928 in St. Louis, the daughter of Edward M. and Lena V. Runde Strecker. She married Howard G. Tucker in the Lafayette Park Methodist Church on Sept. 9, 1950. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Brent Tucker of Curryville; one daughter, Barbara Chappuis of Clarksville; nieces, Gail Mohrmann, Amy Tucker Ryan; nephews, Darrell Hughes, Randall Sloss and David Sloss.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Edna Hogshead.
Laverne lived in Imperial before moving to Curryville. She was a member of the Lafayette Park Methodist Church, New Hope United Methodist Church and later a member of the Clarksville Methodist Church. Laverne was a loyal church member who loved nature, gardening and country life.
She was a dedicated wife, homemaker and mother.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
