Nathan Wright Henderson

Nathan Wright Henderson, 65, of Vandalia died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at his home.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Waters Funeral Home of Vandalia.
A memorial service celebrating Nathan’s life will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday with full military honors following the service at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia. Pastor Jamie Franke will officiate.
Visitation will be held 1 p.m., until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Nathan was born Sept. 20, 1953, in Jacksonville, Ill., the son of Nathan F. and Eva Tipsword Henderson.
Upon graduating high school Nathan proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Professionally Nathan worked as an operator for ASARCO Metal Refinery.
During his free time Nathan enjoyed collecting military memorabilia, watching and reading military history, listening to music especially the sounds of Johnny Cash and playing the guitar.
Mr. Henderson was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Henderson, Jeremiah Henderson, and Jessie Henderson; daughters, Melissa Daniel and husband, Wade, Danielle Henderson and Tara Edmiston; brothers, Harvey McGlasson and Joe McGlasson; sisters, Martha Bangert, Dottie Harrell, and Gladys Thias; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his parents.
