Shirley J. Buckley

Shirley J. Buckley, 82, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis.
Visitation will be from noon until time of memorial service at 1 p.m., Saturday at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana.
From her birth on Aug. 31, 1936 to her death on Feb. 15, 2019 she nourished so many people around her with love and faith. She was born in Pana, Ill., to Bernard and Velma Snyder Hilton. She was the youngest of five children. Two days after graduating from high school in Pana, Ill., she married the love of her life, Jacob Daniel Buckley, on June 5, 1955.
Left to honor and remember her love are her loving husband, Dan of 63 years; her three children, Kathy Weiss and Gary Webber, Brian Buckley, and Mindy Jensen and Scott Hipes; her four grandchildren, Travis Glascock and wife, Amanda, Alex Jensen and wife, Emily, Kim Jensen and Keith Walters, and Dakota Hipes, her four great-grandchildren, Bradyn, Bailee, Blaine, and Jacob; a sister, Wanda Lou Mansfield; and nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Barney, Bill and Jim.
Shirley will be remembered as a loving, caring, and nurturing wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
She enjoyed spending time with family, relaxing on the porch watching humming birds, cooking, gardening, and playing cards with her friends.
Over the years she was a member of many organizations, the most recent were Garden Club, Red Hats, and the Greenwood Cemetery Committee.
Memorials may be made in Shirley’s name to the Greenwood Cemetery.
