Richard ‘Rick’ Gale Stinnett

Richard “Rick” Gale Stinnett, 48, of Vandalia died Friday, March 8, 2019, at his home.
A celebration of Rick’s life was at 11 a.m., Tuesday (today) at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia.  Pastor Jamie Franke officiated.
Visitation was from 10 a.m., until the time of the service Tuesday (today) at Waters Funeral Home.
Rick was born July 1, 1970, in Mexico, the son of Jack Patton and Helen Berniece Smith Stinnett.
Survivors include his daughter, Aubrianna Stinnett of Vandalia; a son, Corben Dorris of Vandalia; brothers, Terry Stinnett of Vandalia, Scott Stinnett and wife, Roberta of Mexico, Bo Stinnett and wife, Gayla of Curryville, and Archie Stinnett of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Sue Johnson and husband, Tom of Maryville, Tenn., Debby Stinnett of Vandalia, Jane Hannaford of Vandalia, and Lisa Clayton and husband, Mike of Las Vegas, Nev.; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Rick graduated from Van-Far High School in 1988. He followed his fathers foot steps and went to work as a truck driver for Gully Transportation.
He loved being outdoors enjoying God’s creation. When not working, Rick enjoyed piddling in his shop, helping family and friends with projects and gardening. Listening to Country Gold on KWWR 95.7 on Saturday nights and watching music videos on YouTube were a few of the simple things in life Rick enjoyed.
Family was Rick’s biggest treasure. He cherished spending time with his family and had had unconditional love for his children.
Richard was a Christian by faith.
