Billy Gene Stubblefield

Services for Billy Gene Stubblefield, 86, of Farber, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Vandalia with the Rev. Randall Cone officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Farber Cemetery.
Visitation will from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday (today) at the funeral home in Vandalia.
Mr. Stubblefield was born Aug. 29, 1932 in Bachelor, the son of Walter Bland and Eunice Womack Stubblefield. He was married to Shirley Mae Varvel on April 6, 1954 in Tupelo, Miss. She survives
Other survivors include one son, Gary Stubblefield of Farber; two daughters, Marla Heaston and husband, Billy Joe and Karen Shonhart, both of Farber; one brother, James Stubblefield and wife, Shirley of Auvasse; one sister, Ann Willard of Fulton; six grandchildren, Amy Horton, Jennifer Beshears amd husband, Albert, Jason Horton and wife, Melissa, Amanda Calhoun and husband, Jordan, Dylan Stubblefied and Cody Stubblefield; and five great-grandchildren, Quinlen Minor, Reid Beshears, Chase Horton, Keethan Horton and Nash Calhoun.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Stubblefield and Bud Stubblefield and one sister, Fay Giboney.
Mr Stubblefield was a lifetime area resident. He served in the United States Army from Jan. 8, 1953 until Jan. 7, 1955 where he attained the rank of corporal. He worked as a plant manager for Oliver Concrete Plant for seven years, North American Refractories from which he retired in 1994 and the City of Farber for 20 years. He was a member of the Farber Fire Department, built scale model steam engines and collected train sets, trucks and marbles.
Pallbearers will be John Hodde, Richard Greenplate, Ronnie Greenplate, Gary Constable, David Crow and Scott Allen.
