Lenora Blanch ‘Lindy’ Wright

Lenora Blanch “Lindy” Wright, 92, died Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Lee’s Summit.
Funeral services will be held at Curryville Baptist Church on Saturday, May 4 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jerry Gamm officiating. Burial will be in Curryville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m., until time of services.
Lenora was born Nov. 7, 1926 in Curryville, the daughter of Ralph Raymond and Blanche Edna Holman Dillard.  On Jan. 8, 1948 at her parent’s home in Curryville. She was married to Gilbert Wright of Bowling Green.
Survivors include daughters, Lana Fleischmann and husband, Kenneth of Raytown, Carol Jean Price and husband, William of Boise, Id.; a brother Ralph Dillard, Jr. and wife, Sue of Curryville; grandchildren, Travis Fleischmann and Adam Fleischmann and Jessica Estes; great-grandchildren, Kailyn, Lexie, and Lindy Fleischmann; and nieces and nephews.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gilbert on March 17, 1989, sister, Phyllis Thompson, and brother-in-law, Omar Thompson.
Lenora was a long-time resident of Curryville and Bowling Green.  Most of her life was spent working with her husband on their farm.  As an active member of the Curryville Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School teacher, and enjoyed being a member of and teaching book studies for the Women’s Missionary Union.  
She was an amazing seamstress, learning to sew at the garment factories in Vandalia and Kansas City and sewed for many people. She was a member of Peppy Circle 4-H Club as a child and later a 4-H sewing instructor, a member of the Hickory Grove Club, and a PTA member.  She enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader.
She read the Bible in its entirety several times. Lenora moved to Boise, Id., in 2000 and to the Kansas City area in 2013.  In her later years she especially enjoyed playing Scrabble and being with her family.
