Thomas Ervin Moehrle

Thomas Ervin Moehrle, 80, of Kinderhook, Ill., died Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, Ill., with Bud Malone officiating.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m., until the time of service.

He was born Jan. 11, 1939 in St. Paul, Menn. He married Anna Mathes on Nov. 4, 2000. She survives.

He is survived by his wife; a step-son, Clint Fox of Colorado Springs, Colo., sisters-in-law, Erma Arttus and husband, Myron of Bowling Green, and Dorothy Mathes of Barry, Ill.; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Mathes of Bowling Green; and numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends, Bud and Barb Malone, Justin Basse and family and Tina Strand and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous siblings.

After graduating from high school, he attended Pike’s Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he received a degree in mechanics. After college he enlisted in the United States Army and served until his retirement where he was honorably discharged after 22 years.

After his retirement he worked as a car mechanic and drove limos and buses for various companies for 30 years. One of his last jobs was working as a door greeter for Walmart. Thomas was ornery and loved to tease everyone.

He was a good man who enjoyed watching TV and taking Sunday drives with his wife, Anna.

He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous siblings.
