Harold Eugene Ferguson

Harold Eugene Ferguson, 71, of Vandalia died Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia. Pastor Dustin Holt will officiate. Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery following the service.

Visitation celebrating Harold Eu-gene Ferguson will be held 10 a.m., until noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Harold was born Feb. 24, 1948, in Fulton, the son of Charles and Margarette (Lee) Ferguson. He was united in marriage to Geneva Ferguson on Feb. 22, 2002, in Mexico. She survives him in death.

Other survivors include six sons, Kent West of California, Harold West of California, Jeffrey Ferguson of Vandalia,, Keith Ferguson of Vandalia, Gerald Connor and wife, Beth of Indiana, and Arthaniel Hammers of Iowa; one daughter, LaDawn Holt and husband, Terry Jr. of Columbia; three sisters, Ana McNeil and husband, Leonard of Fulton, Charlotte Kay of Columbia, and Marie Gal-breath of Indiana; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and other loved family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lance Ferguson; and one granddaughter, LaTamara Hammers.

Harold attended school at Fulton High School. He retired from Harbison-Walker Refractories after 44 and a half years of hard work.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and keeping his yard maintained. Harold loved big get togethers and visiting with people, he never met a stranger. His biggest love was his family and spending time with them.
