Julia Ella Montano

Julia Ella Montana died Jan.6, 2009.

Ella was born June 18, 1924 to Edward and Hazel Mendonsa of Elolia.

Graveside memorial services were at 2 p.m., Monday at Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville. The Rev. Randall Clone officiatd.

She was married to Staff Sgt. “Monty” Montano of the United States Air Force. He preceded her in death in 1987.

She is survived by her only son; Edward David Montano and wife, Twyla of Portales, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Damon, Charity, Nicole, Sabrina, Bonnie, Try and Rebecca and 17 great-grandchildren. She had one brother, Charles Mendonsa.

Known to all as Ella, she was very beautiful and as a young girl lived on a dairy farm in Clarksville. She held a business degree and was a devoted homemaker on their farm near Elsberry.

Ella loved gardening and watching her son work horses. She loved to play the piano at Smith Chapel in Elsberry where the family were members. She loved flowers especially ones that attract hummingbirds.

Ella loved her church and she followed her Lord. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Roswell, N.M., when she went to Jesus.

Ella and Monty retired to Bowling Green and later moved to Roswell, N.M. She will be missed very much by many friends and family and especially her son.
