David Scott Swenson

David Scott Swenson, 54, of Louisiana died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 at University Hospital in Columbia.

A private memorial is being planned by the family.

He was born to Norman C. “Pat” and Helen Swenson on Aug. 8, 1963 in Louisiana.

He is survived by his sisters, Karen Hallows and Keith Hall of Oakton, Vir., Tina Dewey and husband, Karl of Louisiana, Debbie Mally of Sun Lakes, Ariz., Sandy Steinlage and husband, Leon of Topeka, Kan., Laurie McMillin and husband, Miles of Fairway, Kan., and Cindy Harris and husband, Paul of Hannibal. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, John Hallows of Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico and by a very special friend, Anna Elder of Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Jannie Hallows of Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico.

David attended Louisiana Schools, graduating in 1981. After high school, he trained as a lumber inspector and worked for more than 35 years throughout northern Missouri and West-Central Illinois.

He was an avid golfer, and shared with his father a passion for walleye fishing in Minnesota’s Northern Woods. In his own words, “I could hit a golf ball a country mile, and had more fun than 10 men should”. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
