Donna Marie French

Donna Marie French,63, of Pittsfield, Ill., died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

A memorial service for Donna will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Louisiana.

She was born Nov. 30, 1953 in Flint, Mich., to Alva and Janie Bernice Fox French.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Mills and husband, Mike of Ottumwa, Iowa; two grandchildren, Chelsea Mills and husband, Matt and Jordan Mills and wife, Susanne; three great-grandchildren, Ariyah Mills, Damian Mills, and Hunter Mills; six sisters, Mary Beth Hamilton, Zephyr Hills, Fla., Myra Lou Conyers of Jonesboro, Ark., Madeline Eiceman, New Madrid, Debbie Garrett, Hurst, Ill., Samantha Fitzgerel, West Valley City, Utah, and Connie Martin of Novinger; five brothers, Alan French, Zephyr Hills, Fla., Alvin French, Tremble, Todd French, Kirksville, Skipper Cowan, New Madrid, and Gary Lee Cowan of New Madrid.

Donna was raised in New Madrid where she was a member of the Methodist Church.

She was a social worker for abused and neglected children for the State of Missouri. She lived muich of her life in St. Louis before moving to Louisiana, where she continued her job as a multicounty supervisor for the Division of Family Service.

She lived the last years of her life in Pittsfield, Ill., where she made new friends and continued to reach out to advocate for anyone in need of help.

Donna will be remembered for her love of her family and friends, her generosity and most of all her deep faith which she expressed openly and through good works helping others.
