Jessie Ray Lovelace Boston

Jessie Ray Lovelace Boston, 76, of Quincy, Ill., died Oct. 31, 2017 at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

A private military service will be held Thursday at Sunset Cemetery in Quincy.

She was born Aug. 31, 1941 in Ashley to Elgin and Bertha Lovelace.

Survivors include a sister, Donna Potter; nephew, Edward Potter; great-nephew, William Potter; and three great-nieces, Randi Potter, Stephanie Mourino and husband, Wilson, and Sarah Bucher and husband, Christopher.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Harrold ‘Shorty’ Potter.

Jessie graduated from Bowling Green High School and later enlisted in the United States Navy. She then served in Operation Desert Storm as a nurse and most recently retired from the National Guard.

She served her country proudly and loved spending as much time as possible with her family and will be missed dearly.
