Gene Charlton

Gene Charlton, 74, of Louisiana died Monday, Nov.27, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Thursday at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Jeremy Wallace officiated. Burial was in Poor Cemetery in Mozier, Ill.

Visitation was from 11 a.m., until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born Nov. 6, 1943 in Mozier, Ill., a son of Willis and Minnie Degerlia Charlton.

He is survived by one daughter, Angela Charlton of Quincy, Ill.; one brother, Dwayne Charlton and wife, Gladys of Louisiana; two sisters, Violet McChristian and husband, Ewell of Louisiana, and Regina Charlton of Bowling Green; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Geneva Charlton and Betty Grote, and two brothers, Charlie Charlton and Steve Charlton.

He had been employed at Louisiana Manufacturing Co., in Louisiana until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, listening to country music, and playing with his dog, “Brownie”.

Pallbearers were Kenny Charlton, John Charlton, David Charlton, Junior Charlton, Dude McChristian, and Jeff Meyer.
